ROCKWELL — The aroma of barbecue filled the air throughout Rockwell last Saturday. Rockwell Christian School’s annual Fall Festival was under way — a major event for the entire community.
More than 2,000 people enjoyed either barbecued pork or half a barbecued chicken and sides. In addition to the meals, the event provides an opportunity for a family-oriented evening of games, prizes and shopping at the Harvest Café, Country Store and silent auction. Because of the support of businesses in the area, several items such as an iPod Touch and Lenovo tablet were available in the silent auction or as grand prizes for the games.
One person described the festival as a huge family reunion. The theme for the night was “Harvesting for Him” based upon the scripture in Matthew 9:37 which states “…The harvest truly is plenteous…” The staff and students of Rockwell Christian School thank all those who attended and/or supported the school.
