The M.A.N. Truck and Bus Corp., which operated for roughly eight years in Cleveland before the plant was sold to Freightliner, debuted a 40-foot bus on Nov. 26, 1984. The plant’s first 40-foot buses would go to Minneapolis-St. Paul, and in this photograph, officials from Minnesota and M.A.N. are boarding a bus at the Cleveland plant to take a test drive. The initial order from Minneapolis-St. Paul was for 132 buses. Prior to this, M.A.N. had produced only articulated buses out of the Cleveland plant, which opened in November 1981. Post Photographer Wayne Hinshaw took this shot.
