Alison Sobataka (West Rowan) has begun her college career with the Columbia Koalas.
Sobataka scored nine points in her first two games, including 4-for-4 free-throw shooting on Monday against Columbia International.
Catawba’s Declan Stimson, Kenny Bonilla (Salisbury), Corey Faughnan and Domhnall Minogue were Honorable Mention on the All-SAC men’s soccer team.
Bonilla had seven goals and two assists.
Three of his goals were game-winners.
Carson-Newman’s Ross Frame was named SAC Player of the Year.

Registration for wrestling for grades K-6 will be held at the Hall Gym wrestling room tonight from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and also Tuesday, Nov. 12,s from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

East Rowan High’s baseball program and East Rowan Diamond Sports are partnering for a one-day baseball and softball camp on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The primary purpose of the camp is to benefit Rowan Helping Ministries.
Registration for the camp is from 8:30-9 a.m. Saturday. The three-hour camp will be led by East coach Brian Hightower from , 9 until noon at Staton Field and Mathis Field.
Admission to the camp is four canned food items per child. Suggested items are canned fruit, canned meat, canned soup, peanut butter and cereal.
Lunch will be provided for campers from noon until 1 p.m.
The camp is for ages 5-14 and will be directed by Hightower, Joe Hudson and Bob Teague. East players will help with the camp.
All those attending are encouraged to bring a friend from outside the ERDS league.
The rain date is Nov. 16.
The Carson girls basketball team will host a middle school clinic this Saturday. The clinic is from 9-12 and costs $15.

The Hurley YMCA Warriors cross country runners competed at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro for middle school and age-group state championships.
Eli Julian (age 7) won an age-group state championship.
The Warriors were second in the age 9-10 team scores.
The Warriors were sixth in team scores for ages 11-12.
Top-10 finishers received medals.
This Saturday, the Warriors will compete at the AAU National Qualifier at Salisbury Community Park.
