Catawba women lose exhibition to D-I foe

Catawba’s women’s basketball team lost 94-64 at High Point in an exhibition on Monday.
Chloe Bully had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Indians. Mallary Clay and Emma Ucinski scored 14 points apiece.
Catawba turned the ball over 29 times and shot 2-for-21 on 3-pointers. Stacia Robertson led High Point with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

The FCCA Green Dragons won a regional match by a 9-7 score over the weekend.
Colin Donaldson and Ben Childress scored three goals each. Wade Robins, Will Webb and Oscar Enciso had one each. Leading the defensive effort were Ben Sweet, Maddox Goodnight, Hank Webb and Bennett Clark.
Crescent Golf Club announced its senior Club Championship winners. Eric Norris shot 72 for gross division honors. Johnny Morris won the net division with a 66.
Salisury’s soccer team plays at 6 p.m. at home Wednesday against CATA in the third round of the 2A playoffs. Carson plays at South Iredell at 7 p.m. in the third round in 3A.
Catawba’s Olivia Myers, a West Davidson product, was named SAC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year for excellence in athletics, academics, service and leadership. Myers has a 3.98 GPA in biology.
