Robert Harrison Waddell and Alice Cohen Waddell of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 26, 2013. They were married Oct. 26, 1963, at Coburn Methodist Church in Salisbury by the Rev. Walter Kelly. Harry retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1981 after serving 23 years and from the State Juvenile Justice System in 2010. Alice retired from Hefner VA Medical Center in 1999.
The Waddells have two sons, Robert Jr. (Rob) of Cleveland and Michael (Angela) of Salisbury. They have four grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Hannah and Hunter Waddell. The Waddells celebrated their anniversary by renewing vows before the Rev. Steve Combs at Milford Hills Methodist Church. Their children also hosted a surprise reception at Hidden Creek Club House.
