First know his love

God has had me meditating on scriptures about love and walking in love toward my neighbor for a little more than 3 weeks now.
He has showed me great things during my father/daughter time with Him each day. First of all how many of you know that He wants some one on one time with you each day?
It is impossible to improve our love walk without spending time with Him and His word each day.
You see, the more we spend in His word the more of His word gets into us and then when situations arise that we might not like, we will react from what is in our hearts.
So it only stands to reason if we fill our hearts with His love then we will not have room for junk.
The word tells us in Proverbs 23 verse 7, as a man thinks in his heart so is he.
While watching Joyce Meyer this past couple of weeks teach on Living to Love, she made mention several times that her books on Love never sell very well.
At first I thought well, you know people are more interested in what can help them financially, and in their healing, but not so much about loving others.
Then the Lord showed me something today that I believe is why the teachings on love are not as popular.
I believe it is because people need to first know His love for them so that when they can’t keep up their love walk, when they miss the mark, they will not feel condemnation but only His love to help them get back on track.
You see, it is not so much that they do not want to learn to walk in love as it is that they are afraid they can not and then they fear they will let the Lord down.
So maybe when teaching on the love walk we should first teach the students how much God loves them and how His love for them will never falter, no matter how many times they miss the mark.
So first let us know without a doubt how much God loves us. Read the book 1 John and then read John and learn about the disciple who said he was the one Jesus loved, and know this. That is you. You are the disciple that Jesus loves. Start calling yourself, His beloved. AMEN!
Now the Lord has me studying the fruits of the Spirit. And it is no accident that the first fruit of the Spirit listed is love.
And when we look at the others they are all connected to love.
You can’t walk in any of the others if you do not first walk in love.
The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Do you see it? There is no way to have the others without first knowing and walking in love. You can find the scriptures on the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5 verses 22-25.
I challenge each and every reader today to take this journey with me and let us all practice our love walk, and learn to walk in the fruits of the Spirit and see if our other needs won’t just work themselves out.
Stay in the word.
