Rowan Museum Inc. provided this photograph of Buffie Ives, sister of onetime U.S. presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson, examining a piece of Chinese pottery at the Rowan Museum Antiques Show in 1975. She is showing the piece to Capt. Sherman Betts, president of the Moore County Historical Society. Ives lived in Southern Pines and was a strong supporter of the Rowan show. The 60th Anniversary Celebration and Antiques Show Preview will be held Nov. 7, with the Antiques Show itself Nov. 8-9.
