The Rockwell High School class of 1945 held its 68th reunion Saturday, Oct. 19 in the fellowship hall of Gold Hill United Methodist Church.
A buffet luncheon was followed by a brief business meeting and entertainment.
The Pilot Club of China Grove/Landis hosted the N.C. District Fall Workshop with the help of the Kannapolis and Salisbury clubs Oct. 19 at Mt. Zion UCC in China Grove. 105 Pilots from all over the state attended. The ABCs of Pilot were led by Leann Wheeler, the club’s statewide governor.
A — Anchor Clubs: Youth Development & Leadership. There are 14 Anchor Clubs in North Carolina.
B — Brain Safety & Fitness: Brain Minders program for Kindergarden students — Play Safe Play Smart. Pilot International and National Partner planning program called Safe Kids Worldwide.
C — Caring for Families in Times of Need: “Pick Me Ups” — Kind acts for family caregivers.
The new Pilot International and Anchor International motto is “Do More, Care More — Be More”
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Salisbury Alumnae Chapter, is taking applications for the upcomign Delta Growing, Empowering Myself, Successfully (GEMS) program for the year 2013-14.
This program is open to young ladies between the ages of 15 and 18. Contact Delphine McCullough at 704-762-4601 or any Salisbury Alumnae Chapter member for an application by Nov. 9.
