HARRISBURG — Hickory Ridge compiled 431 yards rushing and 590 yards of total offense in a 64-20 victory against South Rowan Friday.
The South Piedmont Conference battle saw Hickory Ridge overcome two early interceptions and score on five consecutive possessions.
HR’s Romello Barnett ran for 239 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Ragin’ Bulls (4-5, 3-3) won their third straight game.
South’s Bryson Deaton ran for 151 yards on 19 carries and reached the end zone twice to highlight the Raiders’ night. Deaton also grabbed an interception as did Burke Fulcher and Tyler Fuller. South’s Alex Parham scored from two yards out. The Raiders won the time-of-possession battle, controlling the ball for 30:33 to HR’s 17:27. Hickory Ridge was called for 10 penalties for 108 yards.
South (0-9, 0-7) travels to Central Davidson in a non-conference tilt next week. South finishes the regular season against East Rowan.
