Dr. Francis Koster, author of “Discovering the New America: Where Communities are Solving National Problems,” will speak Nov. 12 at the Center for the Environment building on the Catawba College campus. His presentation, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., is titled, “A Review of the Climate Change Debate.”
“Media discussion about the issue of climate change continues to bring heat, not light, to this issue,” Koster says. “In my presentation, I will update the audience on the latest scientific findings, review current polls on the subject, and examine the gap in perspective between parts of our society.”
Koster received his doctorate from the University of Massachusetts in the Program for the Study of the Future. He has served as vice president of the Nemours Foundation and as a university administrator as well as a research associate with the Center for the Environment, advising the center on various initiatives such as the Campaign for Clean Air and Energy Corps.
The presentation is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. To make a reservation, contact the center at 704-673-4727 or visit www.CenterForTheEnvironment.org/home.html .
