The descendants of the late Adolphus Lyerly and Minnie Morgan Lyerly gathered together on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Faith American Legion Building in Faith, NC for their annual reunion. Forty-nine family members and one guest attended. The cook-out meal was hosted by Bobby and Helen Rogers, Eddie and Lisa Rogers, and Ron and Jan Burris Families.
President Lynn Caskey welcomed everyone and presided over family business. The following were changes in the Lyerly history since last year:
Birth: Brice Edward Burris, born July 2, 2013 to Seth and Melissa Burris;
Death: Kirk Rowe, husband of Sharon Eagle Rowe in September of 2012.
Thinking-of-you cards were signed by everyone for Betty Lippard, a resident of the Trinity Oaks Lutheran Home, and Dennis Lyerly of near Faith.
Attending from out of state were: Gene and Carol Jean Autry of Midlothian, Va., Bill amd Sandra Jarrett of Orange Lake, Fla., Ron and Betty Hicks, Aimee and Diamond Hicks, Chad, Kimberly, and Allie Hicks of Newport News, Va. Attending from out of town were: Dennis and Becky Anthony of Hickory, Max amd Deanie Webb and David Webb of Madison.
Officers for next year are: Wesley Fulk, president; Tim Lyerly, vice president; and Gaynelle Morgan, secretary/treasurer.
The next reunion will be September 27, 2014 with the Rodney and Wesley Fulk Families serving as hosts.
