RALEIGH (AP) — The North Carolina Highway Patrol says it has “taken appropriate action” against three state troopers who were caught speeding on camera in non-emergency situations.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reports Friday that Highway Patrol spokesman 1st Sgt. Jeff Gordon would not say whether or how the troopers were disciplined or give their names.
The troopers were caught speeding with radar guns by members of the ABC news magazine show “20/20.”
The troopers were driving their patrol vehicles well above the posted speed limit while en route to non-emergency situations, including a trip to a doughnut shop.
The segment aired last week and mentioned speeding lawmen in various parts of the country.
