A truck driver was not injured in a Monday morning crash that totaled his tractor-trailer after he went off the road at 2930 West Innes St., not far from North Hills Christian School.
Joshua Luke Brady, 25, of Siler City, owner and operator of Luke Brady Trucking, was charged with failure to maintain control of the vehicle and no operator’s license, said N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper C.T. Walker.
Brady’s commercial driver’s license had been canceled prior to the wreck.
The tractor-trailer was the only vehicle involved in the crash that occurred at 11:30 a.m. Brady was not injured and was wearing his seat belt.
Brady was traveling south on West Innes Street towards the city, just past the school, when he traveled around a curve and ran off the right side of the road, Walker said.
Brady struck a culvert and two trees. The cab of the truck was heavily damaged and came to rest in a ditch. The trailer was empty.
A guide wire was hit causing damage to a transformer resulting in a power outage, Walker said.
The Salisbury Police and Franklin Fire departments detoured traffic onto Sells Road and Jake Alexander Boulevard. The roadway was opened shortly after 2:30 p.m.
The Rowan County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene regarding a diesel fuel leak, Walker said.
Contaminant Control Inc. was called in to clean the fuel leak and remained on the scene through the early afternoon.
