Officials say a Mooresville man was close to home when he was killed Thursday after a collision with a tractor trailer.
Toby Fletcher Kistler, 61, of 8040 N.C. 152 West, was traveling east on N.C. 152 on a mo-ped when a tractor trailer driven by Demetrius Meade, 43, of the 200 block of 17th St., Spencer, passed the mo-ped. While in the process of passing the mo-ped, Kistler “turned left into the trailer” of the truck, a report said.
The mo-ped continued to travel north on N.C. 152 and the tractor trailer came to a stop facing east on N.C. 152.
The N.C. Highway Patrol investigated the incident, which occurred at 9:45 a.m.
The tractor trailer was with Carrier Best Asset Group LLC based out of Kernersville.
Traffic was detoured after the wreck and the roadway was reopened by 12:30 p.m.
Atwell Fire Department was first on the scene and was accompanied by Enochville and South Iredell fire departments.
