f you thought you saw 1,000 cyclists pedaling through Rowan County on Tuesday, your eyes were not deceiving you.
The 15th annual Cycle North Carolina Mountains to Coast ride rolled through Rowan.
The ride, hosted by N.C. Amateur Sports, started Sunday in Spruce Pine and is scheduled to conclude Saturday in Atlantic Beach.
On Tuesday, cyclists stopped at Sloan Park, the Salisbury Civic Center and Tamarac Marina on their way to Asheboro.
Cyclists from across the nation take part in the annual event, averaging more than 60 miles per day while taking in the state’s natural beauty and a host of scenic towns and cities.
