Salisbury man charged with falsifying store returns, pocketing the money
Salisbury Police say a former Tire Kingdom employee falsified store returns and pocketed the money during a five-month period.
Officials charged Michael Jack Callahan, 32, of the 100 block of Wilhelm Ridge Lane, on Tuesday with one count felony embezzlement of property received by virtue of employment.
The store, located at 310 Faith Road, confronted Callahan, who they say had made 36 returns from April 4 to Sept. 21 totaling $1,326.30.
Callahan was convicted in 1999 of financial card fraud and misdemeanor larceny.
He was issued a $1,000 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
