One Salisbury woman won $40,000 and another won $10,000 in the state’s lottery.
Jenise Fischer bought her $40,000 winning ticket at the Bostian Heights Grocer, 2910 N.C. 152 E., China Grove.
Sarah Leach got her ticket worth $10,000 at the Kangaroo Express, 2270 Statesville Road.
Since Sept. 12, more than $18.6 million was awarded to lottery players in North Carolina. More than $13.6 million of that was paid to players of instant scratch-off games.
Tonight’s Powerball players have the chance to win a $40 million jackpot if taken as an annuity or $22.4 million if taken as a lump sum. The jackpot was reset after a ticket sold in South Carolina matched all six numbers and won Wednesday’s $399.4 million jackpot.
