First Calvary Baptist Church, 400 S. Long St., is holding a Community Day from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today.
Activities include a health fair and community resource information tables. Free school supplies, uniforms and books will be given away to children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Lunch will also be served.

Rose of Sharon Holiness Church, 255 Camp Road, will host its annual homecoming service at 11 a.m. today with guest speaker Paschall McNair, pastor of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

The Rev. Glenn Reichley, former pastor at Lebanon, will speak.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. A covered dish meal will be served in the fellowship hall afterward.
ROCKWELL — Rockwell United Methodist Church, 430 East Main St., observes homecoming during the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday.
The Rev. Dr. Glenn Jonas is guest speaker.
He is the Howard professor of religion and chair of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Campbell University in Buies Creek.
A covered dish luncheon and fellowship will follow the morning service.
Christiana Lutheran Church will celebrate its 142nd homecoming Sunday with the Rev. Dr. Gemechis Desta Buba as guest teacher and preacher.
He currently serves as assistant to the bishop for mission for the North American Lutheran Church.
Buba is originally from Ethiopia and now lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife and two children.
Worship begins at 10:30 a.m., led by the Rev. Carl Haynes. The chancel choir will sing.
Following worship is a covered dish luncheon. Members are asked to bring food to share. Drinks, paper products and utensils will be supplied.

KANNAPOLIS — Eastwood Baptist Church, 320 Cook St., observes Back to Church Sunday.
This casual dress event held Sunday features special music, followed by fellowship with hamburgers and hotdogs.
CHINA GROVE — Mount Zion United Church of Christ, 1415 S. Main St., celebrates homecoming during the 11 a.m. service Sunday with the Rev. William Campbell as guest preacher.
Campbell served as pastor of Mount Zion UCC from 1989 to 2010.
Following worship all are invited to the new building for a covered-dish dinner.
All youth fellowships will be meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday. The meeting will include a special mission trip to the Main Street Mission in China Grove for the older youth.

The South Piedmont Volunteer Team for Operation Christmas Child will host a time of celebration, inspiration, worship and fellowship in preparation for National Collection Week, which takes place Nov. 18-25, and prepare to share the love and hope of God with millions of hurting children all around the world through simple gift-filled shoeboxes.
