Rowan business leaders in Washington to talk about airport, economic development

SALISBURY — Several Rowan County business leaders are in Washington, D.C. today and Tuesday for the N.C. Business and Economic Development Summit and to meet with Federal Aviation Administration officials about the Rowan County Airport.
The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce and RowanWorks Economic Development organized the trip.
In addition to attending the summit, Rowan County business leaders will meet with North Carolina congressional elected officials, key congressional staffers and FAA officials, according to Elaine Spalding, president of the Rowan County Chamber.
Members of the Rowan County delegation are Spalding, airport Director Thad Howell, chamber Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Greg Edds, chamber Chairwoman Cindy Hart, EDC Chairman Pete Teague and EDC Executive Director Robert Van Geons.
