Maddox – Knowles

CLEVELAND – Ashley Rebecca Maddox and Aaron Craig Knowles were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at The Arbors Main House. The Rev. Kenneth Lance officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception on site.
The bride was escorted by her father, Scott Maddox. Serving as Maid of Honor was Allison Smith of Salisbury, and Bridesmaids were Ashley Knowles of Hope Town, Bahamas, sister of the groom; Brittany Vanderslice Soques of Durham; Misty Russell of Canada; and Tracey Goldsmith of Charlotte. Junior Bridesmaid was Bailey Herndon of Salisbury, and Flower Girls were Meredith Knowles and Emma Barigelli, both of Hope Town, Bahamas.
Best Man was Will Fox of Durham, and Groomsmen were Ryne Maddox of Raleigh, brother of the bride; Dylan Sawyer of Marsh Harbor, Bahamas, cousin of the groom; Shawn Thompson and Thomas Bethel of Hope Town, Bahamas; and Mark Letchworth of Greenville, N.C. Ring bearers were Brock and Sebastian Gulden of Hope Town.
The bride is the daughter of Scott and Ellen Maddox of Salisbury and the granddaughter of Ralph and Nancy Freeman of Lincolnton and Lucy and the late Jerry B. Maddox of Sanford. A 2005 graduate of Salisbury High School, Ashley received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Wingate University in 2009. She teaches in the Bahamas.
The groom is the son of Craig and Linda Knowles of Hope Town, Bahamas, and the grandson of Mariam Sowers and Edward Whan of Deerfield, Fla., Rosalie Knowles of Jupiter, Fla., and Perry Knowles of Nassau. A 2005 graduate of Miami Springs High School in Florida, Aaron graduated from Wingate University in 2009 with a business management degree. He is the general manager of Hope Town Inn & Marina.
Following a reception that was held for the couple in the Bahamas on Aug. 17 and a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple will return to their home in the Bahamas.
