Chamber’s Total Resource Campaign has ‘buy local’ theme

SALISBURY — The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce has launched a membership drive called the Total Resource Campaign, which features a “buy local” theme.
The campaign will kick off from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Salisbury Motor Co., 700 W. Innes St.
Mark Seifel of Schneider Electric is chairman of Total Resource Campaign, as well as chairman-elect for the chamber.
Seifel selected the following team captains: Tony Shaw of BB&T, Deborah Young of city of Salisbury, TeRoss Young of Delhaize America-Food Lion LLC, Walter Wall of F & M Bank, Ted Goins and Bill Johnson of Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks, Dave McCoy of McCoy & Hillard CPAs, Martha Bostian and David Post of MedExpress Pharmacy, Greg Philpot of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Jan Corriher-Smith of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and Greg Anderson and Chris Ratliff of the Salisbury Post.
Each team captain will recruit 10 volunteers to assist them. The chamber is offering prizes for all the volunteers participating.
The top producer will win a vacation package valued at more than $2,500. In addition, there are special perks for all new members who join during the campaign.
The chamber hopes to add 90 new members with the 2013 Total Resource Campaign, as well as achieve a 90 percent retention rate of one-year renewals and $5,000 in budget reduction items.
