National Women of Achievement

The National Women of Achievement Inc., held its 17th biennial convention July 17-21, 2013, in Atlanta, Ga. The theme was “National Women of Achievement Moving Forward: Making an Impact in Communities They Serve.”
Ms. Levonia M. Corry of Salisbury and president of the Queen City Chapter in Charlotte, served as delegate and was inducted in the Hall of Fame which is the highest honor given by the National Women of Achievement.
This honor is given to members who have maintained at least ten years of continuous membership and exemplified outstanding leadership expressed through the National Thrust, which consists of Youth and Young Adults, Senior Citizens, Community Service, Political Awareness, Status of Women and Assault on Literacy.
The National Women of Achievement Inc. was chartered in 1975 under the leadership of Dr. Maudest A. Walls Steward in Houston, Tex.
Under Ms. Corry’s leadership, two Youth Achievers from the Queen City Chapter in Charlotte received academic scholarships in the amount of $1,000 at the National Convention.
