Teen accused of taking parts from airplane in Davidson County

LEXINGTON (AP) — A 17-year-old teen has been accused of stealing pieces of an airplane from an airport south of Thomasville.
The Dispatch of Lexington reported the Thomasville teen has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny.
Davidson County sheriff’s deputies say she is accused of taking mufflers, fuel tanks, nose gear, electrical wire, steel plates and other metals valuated at $35,000 from the Hiatt Airport.
Deputies accuse the teen of selling the items as scrap metal for about $500 at a recycling center in Thomasville.
She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 28.
