Sign up and registration for the Salisbury Police Department’s Police Athletic League program is today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Hall Gym, 1400 W. Bank St., Salisbury.
The Police Athletic League is a partnership between the “Salisbury ’49ers” football program and the Salisbury Police Department. The goal of the partnership is to teach youth ages 5 to 12 the basic skills of football, while at the same time teaching them valuable life lessons, conflict resolution and how to make good decisions. There is also an opportunity for young girls to become cheerleaders through the program.
A $100 registration includes registration, equipment and uniforms. Scholarships are available for those who are able to demonstrate need.
Practice days will take place Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hall Gym practice field. Home games, which occur on Saturdays, are played at an area football field, and away game locations will be announced.
Registration forms will be available at Hall Gym after Monday’s officials sign up for those unable to attend.
