Twelve candidates filed in various municipal races Friday before the noon deadline.
But Faith and Rockwell aldermen races did not have enough candidate filings and will remain open until noon on Wednesday.
Incumbent Mike Upright filed for re-election in China Grove’s town council race.
Patrick Phifer, also an incumbent, filed for re-election in the Cleveland commissioners race.
Three East Spencer candidates filed for election, including incumbent Phronice M. Johnson and challengers Robert A. Smith and Otis Gibson.
Faith Mayor W. Todd Peeler filed for re-election on the board of aldermen.
Incumbent Gary Gardner also filed in the race.
Eloise Peeler, incumbent, filed for re-election in the Granite Quarry aldermen race.
Doug Wilson, a challenger from Kannapolis, filed for election in the city council race.
Incumbent Rockwell alderman Chris Stiller filed for re-election.
Rick Honeycutt, of Salisbury, filed as a challenger in the Salisbury City Council race.
Incumbent Spencer Alderman Scott Benfield filed for re-election.
Rashid Muhammad, of Spencer, filed as a challenger for the board.
