A parking deck will not be an option presented to City Council as part of phase-one parking for the 300 block of South Main Street, according to City Manager Doug Paris.
The city has agreed to build 52 new parking spaces for Integro Technologies and 160 spaces for the proposed school central office. Paris said all of those parking spaces will be at ground level.
Phase two of the parking plan includes a proposed second layer of parking behind the future Integro building. But the second level only would be needed if the city has adequate market demand for additional parking in the future, Paris said, such as in the case of the redevelopment of the Empire Hotel.
