Fireworks viewing guide

KANNAPOLIS — The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Village Park, 700 West C St.

The Celebrate America-themed concert will include “Star Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful,” “1812 Overture” and “God Bless America.”

There will be a fireworks display following the concert.

CONCORD — Charlotte Motor Speedway, 5555 Concord Parkway S., will feature fireworks following races Tuesday.

Gates open 5 p.m.

Tickets are $7 for adults. Children under the age of 13 years old get in free.

KANNAPOLIS — The Intimidators will host a fireworks shows leading up to Independence Day on Wednesday. The team will not be home on July 4 this season.

The fireworks display dubbed All-American Celebration will take place following the game against the Augusta Green Jackets, which starts at 7:05 p.m.

The team plays at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, located off I-85 at exit 63.

FAITH — The final day of the Faith Fourth of July festival will wrap up with fireworks at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at the Faith Elementary School ballpark.

The day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a parade down Main Street.

Armbands for rides will be $20 from noon to 5 p.m.

The Faith Idol finals will be held at 7 p.m.

There will be races, games, a watermelon eating contest and egg toss at the ballpark starting at 7 p.m.

MOCKSVILLE — The annual Fireworks In The Park event will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday at Rich Park on Cemetery Street.

The free event will include music, entertainment and food vendors. The DJ will kick things off with karaoke.

The fireworks will begin at 9 p.m.

Parking is $5 at Rich Park, the YMCA and Mocksville Elementary. It’s free at other locations.

BLOWING ROCK — A pyrotechnic display of more than 200 large-caliber mortar shells will light up the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding Tweetsie Railroad starting at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The show can be easily viewed from Tweetsie’s parking area. Parking is $5 per vehicle, but Golden Rail Season Pass holders park for free.

Guests that want an up close and personal view can watch the show from a premium viewing area in the Hacienda, complete with a buffet dinner with all the trimmings.

SALISBURY — Tamarac Marina, 9120 Bringle Ferry Road, will hold its ninth annual fireworks show July 13.

Fireworks will be shot on the water on High Rock Lake and visitors can view the celebration by boat or land.
