A pair of tickets won nearly half a million dollars each in Monday’s Carolina Cash 5 drawing. The tickets, worth $477,275 apiece, beat odds of 1 in 575,757 to win their half of the $954,550 jackpot.
The jackpot-winning tickets were sold at Wilco 363 on West Jake Alexander Boulevard in Salisbury and at the New Dixie Mart on Dortches Boulevard in Rocky Mount.
The winning numbers drawn were 1-7-17-35-37.
Including non-jackpot winnings, Cash 5 players won more than $1.1 million in the drawing. Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. Similar to the multistate draw games Powerball and Mega Millions, the Carolina Cash 5 jackpot can be won or grows larger in every drawing. Cash 5 drawings are held at 11:22 p.m. each night.
