Let’s settle it once and for all — God wants good

Have you ever heard someone say something as goofy as when Katrina hit New Orleans that God was angry with Sin City so He was cleaning it up. Or something as stupid as that when someone is suffering an illness or dies, well it must be God’s will. Let’s settle it once and for all. God only wants good and brings good; God does not cause evil to attack you or harm you. Here’s the proof. This is God speaking to YOU!
Isaiah 54 verse 9…. “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, So have I sworn that I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you”…..
Isaiah 54 verse 17… “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord”…..
God is not the one attacking you when you are going through trials. God tells us in His word how to overcome our trials.
God is not a liar. He is not going to swear on Himself and then turn around and do something different than what He said.
He said He swears to you on Himself that He will not be angry with you nor rebuke you.
And for all of those who say something as goofy again as that is in the old testament, well let me show it to you again in the new testament….
Romans 8 verse 1… “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”…..
Now here is the key to all of this — being in Christ Jesus, not in ourselves. I am not saying the enemy will not try to attack you still, or that bad things are not going to cross your paths, I am saying that it is not from God. There is no evil in God, only good. So trials will still come our way, but how do we handle them? First we don’t blame God. Instead we get into His word and find how He tells us to defend ourselves.
Ephesians 6 verses 10-11… “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”….
Ephesians 6 verses 16-17… “above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”….
How do we stand?

Stay in the word.
