A Rockwell woman was killed this morning after the van she was riding in collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of N.C. 24-27 and U.S. 52 in Albemarle.
Albemarle Police say Jennifer Fesperman died as a result of the crash. Other news sources say Jennifer Fesperman, 32, was a passenger in a southbound minivan on U.S. 52. The crash occurred about 4:15 a.m. in Albemarle. The van was being driven by Jessica Fesperman, 17, also of Rockwell, who other news sources say crossed into the path of the truck, which was heading west on N.C. 24-27.
Three others in the van included Kenneth Fesperman, 47, Phillip Fesperman, 11, and Jordan Fesperman, 14. The tractor-trailer was driven by Larry McIntyre of Sanford. He was not injured in the crash, officials said.
Kenneth Fesperman was taken to Stanly Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. CMC-Charlotte officials do not have a listing for Kenneth Fesperman. Phillip and Jordan Fesperman were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Phillip is fair condition and Jordan is in serious condition, hospital officials said. The investigation is ongoing, police officials said.
