Jaylen Neely and kid sister Jada found a way to beat the heat Wednesday afternoon as the mercury touched 90 degrees for the first time this year.
Water, and lots of it. Jaylen, 5, and 2-year-old Jada played on the splash pads at the JF Hurley Family YMCA.
And they couldn’t have picked a better day — so far, at least.
While it didn’t approach the record 98 degrees of June 12, 1956, Wednesday’s high was warmer than the 85-degree average for this time of year.
And forecasters predict another 90-degree day today, with temperatures expected to fall to the low 80s Friday and Saturday before climbing to the mid-80s Sunday and staying there early next week.
