Salisbury Police continue to investigate a Wednesday shooting at Civic Park Apartments that left one man with three gunshot wounds. Capt. Shelia Lingle said Thursday morning that detectives are still conducting interviews and no arrest has been made.
Investigators said what began as an altercation escalated. Willie Earl Williams Jr. 27, of Second Street, Spencer, was shot once in the elbow, arm and abdomen. Neighbors at the Civic Park apartment complex, located on Hall Street, say they heard arguing right before the shooting.
Law enforcement says Williams was transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center from Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, however, Wake Forest hospital officials did not confirm whether Williams is a patient, citing HIPAA privacy rules.
