Heroin charges result in $100,000 bond for Salisbury man, written promise for woman

KANNAPOLIS — A Salisbury man is in jail under $100,000 bond after Kannapolis police arrested him Friday and charged him with drug trafficking.
Michael W. White, 48, of Antler Way, is charged with two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin and one count of conspiring to traffic in opium or heroin. Police say the offenses happened May 31.
White is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
A woman facing the same charges was released on a written promise to appear in court.
Jennifer Tucker, 25, of Carter Loop Road in Rockwell is charged with three counts of trafficking in opium or heroin. She was arrested Saturday by Kannapolis police and at the request of the charging officer, Detective J.D. Page, was released on a written promise to appear in court Thursday.
China Grove woman charged with possession of cocaine
KANNAPOLIS — A China Grove woman faces drug charges after Kannapolis police say they found her with cocaine and a crack pipe on June 3.
Vicki Cline Rattler, 51, is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $5,000 bond. She is charged with felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rattler is scheduled to appear in court today.
Police: Man wrote bad checks at Kia dealer
SALISBURY — Authorities say a Salisbury man wrote two bad checks to Gerry Wood Kia in February when he attempted to buy a used car from the dealership.
Ty Andrew Mauldin, 20, of Quail Drive, was charged Friday with two counts of obtaining property by false pretense. He was released from the Rowan County Detention Center after posting bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Woman charged with kicking police officer
EAST SPENCER — A Salisbury woman kicked an East Spencer police officer Friday and attempted to run away during a drug investigation, according to authorities.
Misty Dawn Harris, 33, of Duke Circle is being held under $25,000 bond in the Rowan County Detention Center. She is charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver prescription drugs, resisting a public officer, assault on a government official and possession of drug paraphernalia including needles, spoons and a crack pipe.
She was arrested Friday by East Spencer police and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Man charged with stealing tools
SALISBURY — The Granite Quarry-Faith Police Authority arrested a Salisbury man Friday and charged him with felony larceny.
Kevin Shawn Hurley, 25, of Bee Lake Drive took a bag of tools and volt meter worth $1,400, authorities said. He was released from the Rowan County Detention Center after posting $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Man charged with conspiracy to sell pills
KANNAPOLIS — A Kannapolis man faces drug charges after he was arrested Friday.
Jason Darrell Burdette, 38, of Norland Avenue posted $1,000 and was released from the Rowan County Detention Center after Kannapolis police charged him with two counts of conspiracy to sell or deliver Oxycontin. Police say the incidents occured June 5.
Burdette is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
Police: Man had knife at school
SALISBURY — Rowan County authorities say a Salisbury man had a bowie knife at Erwin Middle School last week.
A sheriff’s deputy arrested Phillip John Shoemaker, 19, of Goodman Lake Road on Friday and charged him with possessing a weapon on a school campus. Shoemaker is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 17.
