As the recipient of the Farmers Market’s recent “giveaway,” I wanted to say a big thank you to all of the vendors for participating and for their generosity. I received a wonderful bushel basket of fresh, homegrown vegetables, sausage, pecans, baked goods, pet cookies and supplies. Everything was so fresh and delicious, and the new location across from the Rowan Public Library is terrific. I also received a gas card, which was very much appreciated. For those of you who have not been to the Farmers Market, it is truly one of Salisbury’s best offerings, and I highly recommend checking it out. I am truly blessed to have been chosen to receive all of these wonderful things. Thank you so very much!

Salisbury

Back in the 1920s, Henry Ford cut production costs by using special, quick-drying paint; but it only came in one color. So he simply said, “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants, so long as it’s black.”
Today, watching the scandals surrounding President Obama, he seems to believe that “Americans can say anything they want, so long as they agree with me.”
In the Benghazi scandal, for instance, President Obama falsely blamed a short, stupid anti-Islamic video for the attacks. Then Obama and Hillary Clinton quickly made their own video; a commercial for Pakistani television. In this ad, Obama spent more time condemning the anti-Islamic video than the killing of innocent Americans. “We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others,” he said.
Even worse, in this ad, Hillary never mentioned the killings. Apparently she thinks that Muslims don’t understand YouTube videos, saying “that the United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video. We absolutely reject its content and message.”
Ever notice how both of them usually sound like they’re talking down to 8-year-olds? And I’ve never heard either of them criticize Hollywood’s anti-Christian shows; nor the cartoon “South Park,” which ridicules Jesus, God and Christianity all the time, but not Islam.
So, the war on Christianity continues. The IRS has spent the last few years investigating almost anyone who offends Obama. Even Billy Graham’s Ministries aren’t immune. That’s sad, too; because back in 1964, one of the first-ever integrated events in Birmingham, Ala., took place. Blacks and whites, 30,000 people in all, came together, sat wherever and with whomever they chose, and listened to Billy Graham. It took many more years before the government could achieve what Billy Graham had already accomplished. But that doesn’t fit today’s liberal talking points, so it’s being erased from our history, just like the Christian origins of our country have been.
