Jill McNeely, breast patient navigator at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, has received national certification, the hospital announced.
McNeely, a registered nurse with master of science in nursing, has been designated a certified breast patient navigator by the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC).
She is one of only five breast patient navigators in North Carolina to earn this designation, which focuses on helping guide patients through breast imaging and breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery. McNeely earned certification in both imaging and oncology.
“I’m very proud to receive national certification as a breast patient navigator. From diagnosis to treatment and on to recovery, patients at our medical center can have that additional peace of mind knowing that we have attained this high standard of care,” McNeely said in a statement.
The certification recognizes an individual’s knowledge, skill and professional commitment to providing quality care for breast cancer patients.
