Two people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after their vehicles collided, sending a pickup into a house at West Horah and North Craige streets.
Few details are available at this time, but Salisbury Police are investigating the crash. A Honda passenger vehicle T-boned an F-150 pickup, sending it into a two-story home at 701 W. Horah St., on the corner.
Both drivers were taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical where they were treated for their injuries. Specific injuries and names are unknown at this time.
Neighbors say this is not the first time a vehicle has crashed into the West Horah Street home. Dick Palmore, co-owner of Lit-Co LLC, the company that owns the property, said this is the third time a similar incident has happened since the company bought the house in 1997. The last time a vehicle crashed into the house it moved the foundation three inches, Palmore said.
The renter, Roshanda Robinson, was inside the living room when the truck came crashing onto the front porch. She told a Post reporter she saw the vehicle coming toward her, but froze. She moved when she was close enough to see the driver.
“It looked like he was going to come through the window,” she said.
Robinson, who is pregnant, said she grabbed her 16-year-old daughter and they ran out the back door when she smelled gas. She called 911 once she got out of the house.
