SALISBURY — Salisbury Academy invites adults and children to participate in the school’s 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, May 18.

Registration opens at 8:15 a.m. at Salisbury Community Park, 935 Hurley School Road. The 5K Run/Walk begins at 9 a.m., followed by the half-mile Fun Run, which begins at 9:50 a.m. The race course will be accurately marked by the Salisbury Rowan Runners club.

Participants of the 5K may pre-register online through May 15 for $20. Registration on the day of the event will cost $25. Registration for the Fun Run is $10. All participants who pre-register for either event will receive a T-shirt. Visit www.salisburyacademy.org for registration details.

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is the presenting sponsor for the 5K and Fun Run.

The 5K Run/Walk will be held in conjunction with Salisbury Academy’s Annual Kidsbloom Family Festival. The festival will be held on the school campus at 2210 Jake Alexander Blvd. North from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include carnival games, a super slide, climbing wall, book fair, silent auction, raffle, concessions and dodge ball tournament.

Admission to Kidsbloom is $5 per person. Participants in the 5K and Fun Run receive free admission.

“We are planning a 5K with every runner and walker in mind,” said Development Director Chris Fowler. “I’m excited to see that several competitive racers have already signed up and just as excited to see entire families planning to run and walk in the 5K and Fun Run.  With Kidsbloom taking place after the race, we are looking forward to hosting two fun events for the entire family.”

Visit www.salisburyacademy.org for more information about both events.
