Cuts to income taxes accompanied by increases in sales taxes hurt retirees. Most retirees owe little income tax but continue to pay for hair salons, labor on auto repairs, lawn mowing services, all examples of things that would suddenly have sales tax added to the bill. This is not a senior- friendly idea.
