Political strategist stabbed in Raleigh home dies

RALEIGH (AP) — A North Carolina political strategist who worked for high-profile Democratic candidates has died from stab wounds.
A spokesman for WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh said Wednesday morning that Jamie Kirk Hahn, 29, had died from her injuries.
Hahn and her husband Nation Hahn, 27, were stabbed at their home Monday night.
Nation Hahn was released after being treated for his injuries.
A friend of the couple, Jonathan Broyhill, 31, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. Broyhill also was charged With assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He also was injured and was being treated at the hospital.
A wedding announcement in a South Carolina newspaper listed Broyhill as the best man at the couple’s wedding in 2009.
Raleigh police continue to investigate the attack.
