Wind, rain and hail could hit Rowan overnight

SALISBURY — Severe thunderstorms could hit Rowan County overnight.
A strong cold front is forecast to roll through the region tonight, the National Weather Service said. Damaging winds, hail and tornadoes are possible in a region generally south of Interstate 85.
As much as an inch of rain could fall.
Another line of thunderstorms is expected to develop in western North Carolina early Friday.
Friday’s forecast calls for clearing skies and high around 80. Saturday and Sunday are expected to be clear and lovely, with temperatures in the low 70s.
