Bullhole at RiverPark
plans Saturday cleanup
COOLEEMEE — Once again, the Davie County High School Football team and their coaches will join other RiverPark volunteers in an annual Bullhole Workday this Saturday. Willing hands will gather at the Margaret Woodson picnic shelter on the Rowan side at 8 a.m.
They will start with a quick breakfast provided by United Way volunteers. RiverPark will provide a hot dog lunch at noon.
Work projects have been identified by RiverPark board members John Peeler and Ron Bivins. Some clearing of brush will be done on the Rowan side down by the river. A new path will be cleared on the Davie side above the dam.
Once the river bank is cleared and made walkable, a trail will exist which loops around to the old railroad track bed and back to the dam.
There will be some work for everyone. RiverPark supporter Lori Greene has donated lots of iris to be planted near the big picnic shelter, so bring a trowel along. Other equipment will be furnished, along with work gloves for the day.
