Cruise ‘n Barbecue benefit for Earnhardts set for April 27

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Men will hold a Cruise ‘n Barbecue April 27 to benefit Mike and Lisa Earnhardt.
Mike Earnhardt, a retired barber, continues to deal with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Here is the schedule of events, rain or shine, for April 27:
• 10 a.m.-noon — Poker Cruise. Participants travel to five different stops to determine their poker hands. The best and worst hands receive a cash prize. The “cruise” takes in a scenic route through Rowan County’s countryside. Registration will be at the church, 205 St. Paul’s Church Road, beginning at 10 a.m.
• Noon-4:30 p.m. — Cruise-in, car show, music and Port-A-Pit chicken dinners. People are being encouraged to enter their rides in the car/motorcycle show, while also voting for their favorites. Prizes will be awarded, with raffles and trivia prizes throughout the afternoon. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, East Rowan Chapter, has provided $1,000 as a matching gift.
A silent auction of quality hand and power tools will be held from noon-4 p.m., with winners announced afterward.
• 4 p.m. — Poker Cruise and Car Show Awards, half-and-half and raffle drawings.
