Person ejected in 2-vehicle Statesville Boulevard crash
Rescue crews responded to a two-vehicle wreck that injured at least three children and a driver Friday night on Statesville Boulevard near Hersey Meters.
The accident at 10:54 p.m. was at 10230 Statesville Boulevard near Gatton Road.
A medical helicopter was called and a landing zone was set up at the crash scene, but the helicopter was later rerouted to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
One of the vehicles rolled over, and rescue personnel on the scene said at least one person was ejected from that vehicle, an approximate 24-year-old who had severe road rash and lacerations to the head.
A separate single-vehicle accident later took down power lines near Lake Drive and North Caldwell Street. Duke Power crews were called to the scene.
