SALISBURY — A Ridge Avenue man was charged Thursday with possession of cocaine after his nervous behavior caught the eye of a police officer.
Tony Curtis Barrino, 43, Salisbury, was charged with felony possession of a controlled schedule II substance.
Salisbury Police were in the area of Fulton Street and Maupin Avenue where they’d just responded to a breaking and entering call on Maupin Avenue. A man later identified as Barrino was seen walking in the 1300 block of South Fulton Street. He kept looking back at the officer, who was riding in his patrol car. The police report said Barrino continued to look at the patrol car. Barrino had on a large backpack and the officer believed Barrino was involved in the break-in that had just occurred. Barrino then tossed something onto the front lawn of a home on South Fulton Street. The officer stopped Barrino, who was then arrested and charged. Barrino was previously convicted of driving while impaired, drug possession and resisting a police officer.
