Parishioners at Sacred Heart Catholic Church marked Good Friday with a living Stations of the Cross, or Via Crucis. Such processions invite observers to reflect on Christ’s suffering as he carried the cross to his crucifixion at Calvary. Traditionally, it includes 14 stations that depict events on the day of crucifixion, from Jesus being condemned to death to his body being laid in the tomb.
For Christians, Good Friday is a solemn holy day that commemorates the day Jesus Christ died. Easter Sunday celebrates his resurrection.
