Turning Salisbury into ‘Sleepy Hollow’

SALISBURY — There’s a new sheriff in town.
Two prop cop cars for the TV pilot “Sleepy Hollow” arrived in Salisbury today bearing the logo of the fictional Sleepy Hollow Sheriff’s Department, part of preparations for a week-long nighttime shoot that starts at 6 p.m. today and runs every night through Friday.
Salisbury actor David Cline will serve as the stand-in all week for Tom Mison, the British actor who will star as Ichabod Crane, who wakes up in a modern-day Sleepy Hollow 200 years after slaying a soldier on the battlefield. The soldier — the headless horseman — also returns from the dead, seeking revenge.
The show will be set in the 1800s and modern times, with law enforcement agent Crane and the villainous horseman traveling through time to do battle between good and evil.
Salisbury is one of several 20th Century Fox filming locations in the Charlotte region.
