CHINA GROVE — Authorities say a Concord man broke into a pawn shop looking for weapons but only took two gun accessory sets.
William Lambert Jr., 22, of 210 Corbin Ave. in Concord, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.
On Dec. 16, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm activation at Pearl’s Pawn and Gun Shop in China Grove.
Officers found that the front door window had been shattered with a rock, which was lying on the floor.
The owner of the pawn shop reported that two glass cabinets used to contain handguns were shattered, but the guns had been placed in a secure location before the shop closed.
The Sheriff’s Office says Lambert stole a Glock gun case, cleaning kit and extra magazine, as well as a Springfield gun case, cleaning kit and extra magazine. The property has a total estimated value of $300.
Lambert was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center and given a $1,000 bond.
