On Saturday, March 9, in celebration of Sigma Week Graduate Chapters nationwide of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. will sponsor a Youth Symposium at Rowan Public Library, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 16th annual Youth Symposium is titled “It’s in the Bag” and will focus on STEM, introducing girls ages 13-17 to futures in science, technology, engineering and math.
The overall theme is “H3: It’s All About Me — Healthy Choices, Healthy Living, Healthy Generations.
Sigma Gamma Rho was founded by seven young teachers on Nov. 12, 1922, in Indianapolis at Butler University. Supporting this effort aligns with the founders’ vision and the aim of the sorority, which is to enhance the quality of life of others through continued service. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically and economically.
The Rowan County chapter, Lambda Epsilon Sigma, is proud to support Sigma Gamma Rho in the effort to increase the knowledge of future generations through STEM.
