SALISBURY — Rowan Republicans are expected to select a county chairperson at the Rowan County Republican Convention this morning.
The convention at the Cohen Administrative Offices Building, 130 W. Innes St., starts at 10 a.m. with precinct sessions at 10:30 a.m.
Chairman Greg Edds, who has said he will not run for re-election, said U.S. Reps. Richard Hudson and Virginia Foxx are slated to speak at the event.
Edds said a nominating committee will present candidates for party officers, members-at-large and the chairmanship.
“We’ll present — tomorrow — our committee’s work on leadership for the next two years,” Edds told the Post Friday.
Nominations from the floor will also be heard.
The convention will also pick delegates to the state convention, which will be held in June in Raleigh.
All Rowan County Republicans are invited to attend. For more information on the county Republican party and upcoming events, check the new website: www.rowanrepublicans.org.
