Carter Cook is receiving his Eagle Scout Award today, Feb. 3, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury. Henry Trexler, Scoutmaster of Troop 443, is making the presentation.
Carter is the son of Allen and Michelle Cook of Salisbury and an eighth-grader at Salisbury Academy. He has earned 25 merit badges and has been Assistant Senior Patrol Leader for the past year.
He started scouting in first grade and earned his Arrow of Light before becoming a Boy Scout. He attended Camp John J. Barnhardt and Camp Daniel Boone.
For his Eagle Scout Project, Carter had a Dog Food Drive for Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary. He donated over 2,000 pounds of dog food and donated over $1,600. The total number of service hours for his project was 331 hours with the help from 155 donors and helpers.
Carter has also accumulated an additional 64 service hours in the community.
